Summertime . . .& the livin' is haiku
Jun. 22nd, 2009 03:01 pmJust in time for the post-solstice heat wave (if you live in the northern hemisphere, anyhow), The Haiku Foundation's Montage feature is offering a selection of summertime haiku by Shiki, Peggy Willis Lyles, and Garry Gay.
Selected as usual by Allan Burns, this is a particularly lovely set of twenty-one haiku, suitable for reading and rereading with a tall cool glass of your beverage of choice. There are standouts here for each of the poets, though I particularly enjoyed Lyles' work.
