NASA gets WISE -- and pretty!
Apr. 21st, 2011 04:17 pmFor those who just can't get enough gorgeous images of celestial objects (and we know who we are, right?), NASA recently released a horde of images from the sky-mapping mission known as WISE: the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer.
For an overview of the mission -- which launched in 2009 -- and its objectives, check here.
For 25 really amazing images plus notes in an easy-to-browse format, try here.
As a Colorado resident, I find this particularly exciting . . . because the spacecraft itself was built by Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp, in Boulder. That's just down the road (more or less) from where I live.
