National Poetry Month with Poetry Daily
Apr. 1st, 2011 04:42 pmJust realized today -- yes, on the first day of National Poetry Month -- that I'd forgotten to mention one more great way to get more poetry into your life, or at least into your Inbox.
Poetry Daily is always a reliable source of current poetry, both English-language and in translation, but for April they're offering a special Poets' Pick feature. Twenty-one poets will each be selecting a favorite poem from "The Greats," adding their comments, and delivering the entire yummy package via e-mail Monday through Friday.
All you need to do to receive this is to sign up for Poetry Daily's free e-mail newsletter.
I'd really do it now, if I were you. The first Poets' Pick is William Shakespeare's Sonnet 116, with comments by Alicia Ostriker.
It does not ever get better than Bill.
