Star*Line 33.1 (Jan./Feb. . . . they're all caught up now!) recently landed in my mailbox. This is one loaded issue: check out the full TOC here! Shorter poems predominate this time, and I think a good percentage of my LJ flist is in this puppy. So am I, with a terza rima sonnet titled "That Other Starry Night."
Simply produced but always attractive, the Journal of the Science Fiction Poetry Association offers a remarkable amount of material in each 28 page issue. I'm still working through this one, but I'd like to call attention to Geoffrey A. Landis's article on "Haiku, Scifaiku, and Refrigerator Poetry." It's a well-researched and clearly organized analysis of haiku (and/or related short Japanese-inspired forms) in the spec poetry world, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone curious about the subject.
