Tied Up In Tinsel (Roderick Alleyn, #27)Tied Up In Tinsel by Ngaio Marsh

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is probably a four-star listen only for those of us who can't get through the holidays without some classic British homicide . . . but if that's you, this will probably deliver what you're craving. Ngaio Marsh provides a tightly plotted between-the-wars Christmas country house murder featuring Inspector Roderick Alleyn -- & his artist wife Troy, of course. A few extra-eccentric characters & a whole staff of reformed "oncers" (one-time murderers) keep things lively.

Although one aspect of this case made me slightly crazy (hint: don't expect the corpse on P. 1, or even P. 50) , I thoroughly enjoyed the few hours I spent in this plummy & artificial little world. The Audible version I listened to was offered as an Audible Plus selection. If you're a member & like this sort of thing, why not snag it now for next Christmas?
