Seventy-five years ago today, a seminal writer (some would say THE seminal writer) of modern American horror died way too young in Providence, RI.

Mike Davis's Lovecraft eZine  blog has a marvelously informative post today, including the full text of H.P. Lovecraft's obituary (and what it looked like!).   Find it here.

And then go read one of Lovecraft's tales, which are widely available online (here's one source).  Or pet a cat. Or eat some pistachio ice cream.

Lovecraft would approve of all three, but I think I'll stick with the one I'm not allergic to.
