various haiku updates
Feb. 18th, 2009 11:44 amThe Spring issue of Simply Haiku is up now, with a special retrospective section by Richard Gilbert, this e-journal's new haiku editor. Entitled "Six Years of Simply Haiku: Retrospective Selections 2003-2008, in Eleven Themes, " it offers 320 haiku by previous contributors. The selections include many of a speculative -- or at least astronomical -- character, and provide a wide range of styles and approaches to modern haiku.
I have one haiku in this retrospective, which can be found in the Season section.
dkolodji has two very Southern Californian offerings in the Place and Mythos sections, and
b_oki checks in with one in the Dialect section. (If I missed any contributor who happens to be reading this, please let me know!)
The Winter-Spring issue of Modern Haiku is also out now, and it's a monster: 152 pages! I've got one haiku in this, as well. I'm always thrilled to be a part of this venerable haiku publication, which has just begun its fortieth year.
