I've promised in the past to keep up with NASA's Kepler spacecraft and its hunt for extrasolar planets -- and today, there's some doubly exciting news to report!
Thanks to
science_at_nasa , as usual, I was thrilled to learn that Kepler has found its first confirmed multiple-planet system. So far, two giant planets have been identified as transiting a distant sun-like star . .. and there's a distinct possibility that a third smaller planet (though still much larger than Earth) might be present as well.
