From now until September 19th, Innsmouth Free Press is running a 20% off pre-sale on its new Gothic horror anthology, Candle in the Attic Window.

This big new anthology offers twenty-seven stories & poems celebrating the Gothic spirit in both modern and historical time periods.  It ships September 20th -- just in time for Halloween season reading!

Check out the full table of contents here, or read a sample story here.  (Both of these are PDFs.)

Truth in LiveJournaling: I do have a sonnet in this anthology --- "The Ba-Curse," a more Egyptologically accurate take on the mummy's curse of song & story.

Diane Severson ([livejournal.com profile] divadiane1) has a new Poetry Planet segment on this week's StarShipSofa podcast -- No. 202! --  and it's required listening for anyone interested in the spec poetry world.

Poetry Planet No. 3 features all six winners (1st, 2nd, & 3rd) of the 2011 Rhysling Awards, as follows:

CSE Cooney, Dogstar Men (3rd place, short form)
Robert Frazier, Wreck-diving the Starship (3rd place, long form)

Karen A. Romanko, Binary Creation Myth (2nd place, short form)
Bruce Boston, Dark Rains Here and There (2nd place, long form)

Amal El-Mohtar, Peach-Creamed Honey (winner, short form)
CSE Cooney, The Sea King's Second Bride (winner, long form)

Find even more details at the Sofa web site, here.  As usual, you can stream it from here, or listen on iTunes.

Unfortunately, I'm a bit behind on my podcast listening.  I can't recommend from experience that you download StarShipSofa No. 201 as well,  to catch all of Geoffrey A. Landis's  "Sultan of the Clouds."   I will only say that I've never heard a bad Sofa serial yet.  Why risk missing a good thing for free?
