Archaeology's latest e-update includes a link to a short but fascinating article from the Archaeology Institute of America's Online Editorial Director, Mark Rose.  He seems to have a few problems with the AMA press release, though he hopes that some of his questions will be resolved by the full article:

Rhysling nomination for a hypothetical protoplanet

Sorry for mouthing off posting twice in one day, but I just found out that my spec science poem "To Theia" has been nominated for a short form Rhysling Award.

"To Theia" appeared on Strange Horizons last fall, and can still be found lurking there.

I'm not really sure that I'm the squeeing type, but I do find this rather frabjous.
