If you missed WorldCon this year -- as I did -- you missed out on the Science Fiction Poetry Association's great new tri-fold sampler of scifaiku, with work by both spec poetry notables and mainstream haiku practitioners.

No need to suffer any longer, though.  You can go here for your own PDF copy of The Universe In Three Lines: A Sampler of Scifaiku.  Sixteen tasty scifaiku, plus information on this innovative form and membership information for the SFPA -- all for free, which is probably the best mid-week deal you'll find.

Wikipedia's featured article for today concerns the Samlesbury witches, three women who were tried for witchcraft  (among other crimes!) in August of 1612 at the Lancaster Assizes in England.

I found this article fascinating for a number of reasons, but was particularly intrigued by the fact that all three of the accused were acquitted.  That's right -- acquitted

I had no idea that this ever happened in England's witch trials, though I suspect that it didn't happen often.
