If you're looking for a bite-sized way to participate in National Poetry Month, you might want to check out the new DailyHaiku cycle which started this week.
The new contributors are Catherine J.S. Lee, Greg Schwartz, Richard Krawiec, Patricia Benedict, Robert Moyer, and Megan Arkenberg (who also edits the online fantasy magazine Mirror Dance!). This cycle, however, is leading off with DailyHaiku's first Invited Poet, George Swede. He is the editor of Frogpond and a founder of Haiku Canada -- as well as a creator of unusual and striking modern haiku.
There is also a special article feature by Ray Rasmussen, on Modern English Language Haibun. I've been working with the haibun form myself recently, and have found that it adapts very well to speculative topics.
