Scorpion Prize 1st Runner-Up!
Ok, what's a Scorpion Prize? It's a strictly non-material (no cash, no certificate) award for the best haiku or senryu in a particular issue of Roadrunner Haiku Journal, a sometimes experimental & always interesting online haiku publication.
As it happens, one of my haiku from the previous issue just received First Runner-Up for this award. Jim Kacian (editor of Red Moon Press) did the selections, & wrote a very interesting bit of commentary about my poem.
Readers of speculative poetry should take a moment to check out the haiku in this issue -- I found many that would have been at home in any SF/spec publication.
